RELIEF FROM ECZEMA

Frustrated, Despondent with Eczema Skin Symptoms?

Eczema skin symptoms are characterized by a group of skin conditions that share some common characteristics. Eczema is extremely common and can manifest in both young and old alike. The prevalence of eczema in society is on the increase, along with other allergic conditions.

Girl in Despair
The National Institutes of Health estimates that 15 million people in the United States have some form of eczema. About 10 percent to 20 percent of all infants have eczema; however, in nearly half of these children, the disease will improve greatly by the time they are between five and 15 years of age. Others will have some form of the disease throughout their lives.

Eczema skin symptoms are characterized by an itchy rash, when scratched often manifests in red bumps. Blisters can sometimes form, which may weep or dry out and cause dry scaly itchy skin, resulting you to be in great discomfort. Your itching can become unbearable that it almost drives you crazy.

Your skin can start bleeding as a result of the continuous scratching and once your skin cracks, you are at risk to develop secondary infection.

Psychological Stress

The manifestation of skin eczema symptoms can be extremely distressing for you. The thought of having to face the public can be intimidating for some. Particularly with extreme skin eczema symptoms. This psychological stress can further aggravate your eczema symptoms.

Cause Of Eczema

The cause of eczema is thought to be a combination of hereditary (genetic) and environmental factors. People who are susceptible to allergies have an increased potential to succumb to an outbreak of eczema, particularly asthma and hay fever sufferers. The exposure of your skin to irritants and allergens can also cause eczema skin symptoms to manifest.

Treatment For Eczema

The key treatment for eczema is to identify and isolate the cause of your eczema. Unfortunately sometimes this is easier said than done.

Your goals for treating your eczema symptoms could be one or more of the following:

  • To heal your skin.
  • To reduce the eczema skin symptoms.
  • To prevent further damage to your skin.
  • To prevent your eczema from flaring up.
The first line of treatment should be to restore the protective barrier of your skin to prevent it from getting any worse.

Eczema treatment can vary from person to person and can be influenced by your health, your age and the eczema skin symptoms you are manifesting.

Many people claim to have a cure for eczema, personally I do not think you can cure eczema, you can reduce or eliminate the symptoms for a season. The season can be few weeks, a couple of years or a lifetime its your choice and can vary depending on your approach to the treatments for eczema.

The reason I believe you can never be cured of eczema is that if you stop the treatments for eczema, it won't be long before the eczema skin symptoms will rear there ugly head and the dry itchy rash, red bumps and bleeding associated with it manifest again.

Reading What Is Eczema may help to give you more understanding about the skin eczema complexities.

Preventative Measures

Anything that aggravates your skin eczema symptoms should be avoided. Some things that might aggravate your eczema are:
  • Allergens - pollen, dust-mite, animal residues.
  • Skin Irritants - wool, synthetic fibers, soaps, detergents, solvents, industrial chemicals
Try and keep your home clean, cool with a stable temperature.

An Eczema Treatment That Works For One Person, Might not Work For You

Unfortunately there is no single treatment that works for all eczema skin symptoms. Eczema treatments that work for one person or a particular type of eczema does not necessarily work for all people and types of eczema. You need to find an eczema treatment that works best for your situation.

With a little bit of knowledge and help you should be able to start seeing some improvements Most eczema treatments revolve around modifying changing habits, lifestyles and environments, that will reduce your exposure to the eczema triggers.

In the meantime, read the story below. This could be a typical scenario for someone who suffers with Eczema ...

Someone Else's Pain ...
I have a story about my precious hands that I think should be shared. I have, for my entire life, had sores and oozy blisters on my hands from eczema. I have woken up in the night itching and scratching so badly that the only thing that stopped the itching was scalding hot water, which I ran on my hands until they turned beet red.

The worst was when I went camping and was unable to get to the hot water. Staying in hotels was also difficult as they never let their water run hot enough to give me relief. I have used all the prescription products and have spent $80.00 /month on over the counter cortisone's which only gave temporary relief.

For most of my adult life I have not shaken hands with people because I knew they would be repulsed by my blistering hands. I have bar-tended and groomed dogs, and had to quit since the soaps were so toxic to me, that at one time, I almost lost my thumb. I have had scars from sores on my hands that sometimes took months to heal. I would wake up every morning with swollen cracked sore fingers so bad I couldn't close my fists...

...NOW! I am so happy I can shake hands with everyone. I am a touchy-feely person so you know how hard that was for me before. I am on a mission to target all eczema sufferers and give them my story. They will know and relate to my suffering and will do anything for relief. I would have stuck my hands in cow dung if that would have worked!
